PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has contributed RM100,000 to the Tabung Harapan fund.
Its president Datuk Tan Kok Liang said MATTA was happy to do its bit to help in the effort to improve the nation’s finances.
“This fulfils MATTA’s pledge to also support the national tourism industry, which is a key sector with RM201.4bil generated in 2017.
“We trust that the Tabung Harapan contribution from Malaysians will help build a stronger nation,” Tan said after presenting the cheque to Transport Minister Anthony Loke at the ministry here yesterday.
MATTA’s contribution was raised at the recent Kuala Lumpur MATTA Fair, with RM1 from every RM4 entrance fee going into the fund.
The fair attracted a total of 93,084 people, with total sales transaction at RM210mil.
