KUALA LUMPUR, 26 APRIL 2018 – The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asfar Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Fursan Convention & Exhibition to promote and enhance Umrah travel to Saudi Arabia through networking, marketing and promotional activities between travel agents of both countries.
The signing of the MoU between MATTA, Asfar Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Fursan Convention & Exhibition was completed by MATTA Vice President Umrah and Hajj, Shahrulnezam Mohd Daud, the Deputy Chairman of Asfar Kingdom, Samir Abdul Fatani and the Chairman of Fursan Convention & Exhibition, Zairul Annuar Hj Mohd Zin.
A core element of the MoU is to organise the first Umrah B2B session which is scheduled to be held on the 2nd of July 2018 in Kuala Lumpur. There are about one million pilgrims who perform their Umrah and Hajj yearly from the region and MATTA is taking this opportunity to shape the Umrah travel and to facilitate the business of the Bumiputera tour operators when they meet with the counterparts from Saudi Arabia.
MATTA Vice President Umrah and Hajj, Shahrulnezam Mohd Daud said “This is an exciting collaboration for the three parties and it plays a significant role in enhancing Umrah travel to a greater height, providing more business opportunities for the members to exchange ideas, build networking, partnership and expand their business market.”
“With this MoU, we will be able to raise cooperation level between MATTA, Asfar Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Fursan Convention & Exhibition and leverage on each other’s technical knowledge and expertise for the expansion and growth of both nations’ travel and tourism industry,” Shahrulnezam added.
