MATTA Moves to E-Hailing Platform

Kuala Lumpur, 12 July 2019 - The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) today successfully signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with four e-hailing companies, namely:

1. Dacsee Sdn Bhd (Dacsee)
2. Ideal Technology Advancement Sdn Bhd (Ciaoz2u)
3. MULA Car International Sdn Bhd (MULA Car)
4. Neo Urban Consolidated Sdn Bhd (Nuccar)

MATTA President Datuk Tan Kok Liang said, “MATTA is pleased to extend its collaboration with e-hailing companies in the effort to leverage on the e-hailing platform to enable our members who are transport operators to list and maximise their available fleet of vehicles on the apps of these companies. This signifies our commitment to strengthen and expand our members’ businesses further by exploring opportunities in various sectors in the tourism industry, including transportation.”

“The discussion to formalise this project started a year ago and the objective is to work closely with our strategic partners such as Dacsee, Ciaoz2, MULA Car and Nuccar to fulfil our mutual objectives as well as to raise the business sustenance of our members and e-hailing companies towards enhancement in the tourism industry.”

“This strategic collaboration also extends beyond transportation to include spearheading innovation and technological initiative. It would encourage more transport operators in the country to be more innovative, especially in the face of disruptive technology.”

“With the e-hailing companies’ extensive presence in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, MATTA is confident of reaching a sizeable audience through the platform. Together, we will create a travel experience that is both seamless and personalised to the needs of consumers.”

“The transport operators, who are members of MATTA, are vetted, well-trained and experienced operators to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, and the vehicles are well equipped with features that are at par with other e-hailing vehicles. The advantages of the vehicles provided by our members are also that they have a large capacity, which can be converted into taking luggage services and in condition to cross border between states,” Tan added.

Members of the travel and tour industry will have the opportunity and support they need for the access to a bigger market and a new stream of income through e-hailing platform.”

MATTA is optimistic that this collaboration will create better travelling conditions and better transportation facilities for the continuous growth of the tourism industry in Malaysia and enhance members business offerings and services to consumers.
